The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for helping the Maintenance Supervisor by keeping our facility operating smoothly and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen.
Responsibilities and Purpose
- Performing routine maintenance around the building.
- Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Clean various surfaces and areas, including tabletops, floors, furniture, and windows
- Refinish floors as needed.
- Fix minor issues related to electricity, plumbing and other systems.
- Keep equipment in working order and report any repair needs beyond your scope to Supervisor.
Desired Experience and Education
- A valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical and HVAC.
- Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long Term Care environment preferred.
