NORMAN HOUSING AUTHORITY is Hiring a Maintenance Technician for rental properties Near Norman, OK

Being honest - If you like laughing and smiling while doing great work and can "unplug" from personal issues during the day, this may be the place for you! Our goal is to maintain a great maintenance team that enjoys who they work with and enjoys what they do. If you are a tardy person, don't have pride in your work or yourself, or wont take responsibility, this may not be the best fit. (We are seeking one qualified maintenance person with an emphasis on basic plumbing to join our team of four.)

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

Maintenance will be performed to maintain rental properties and to prepare rental properties for the next occupant. All rental properties are located in Norman, OK.

Performs light to moderate maintenance tasks in all aspects of the maintenance program, to include but not limited to: painting, minor electrical repairs and adjustments, plumbing, heating and air conditioning (light trouble shooting), carpentry and general maintenance.

Will take on call rotation for emergency issues.

Identifies maintenance problems which are beyond the capability of the employee and reports the same to management with appropriate recommendations, if possible.

Completes work order requests in a timely manner – to include accurate report of man hours, parts and/or materials and location of work completed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a high school graduate with one year experience in general maintenance with an emphasis on basic plumbing or possess an equivalent of formal training and/or work experience.

Must have the ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public and other employees, ability to work independently, have a good sense of priorities, and willingness to use initiative, ability to retain proprietary information as confidential, and ability to comply with punctual attendance policies.

Must be able to sit, stand, or walk on uneven surfaces for long periods. Must be able to work in heat, cold, ice, and rain. Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, or other awkward motions. Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry 75 pounds. Must be able to navigate tall ladders.

Must be drug free to include medicinal marijuana use. Must pass background check!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
