Norlee Group is looking for a highly motivated Benefits Specialist to join and grow with our team. This is an in office 8am-5pm Monday through Friday position located in our Jacksonville, FL office.

Position Summary:

The Norlee Benefits Specialist role is responsible for managing and administering our company's employee benefit and compensation programs, from retirement plans and health insurance to life insurance and beyond. In-depth knowledge of both benefits and the federal and state laws that govern them is preferred. This person will need to know how to sort out issues, like coordinating an employee’s leave in accordance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or changing contributions in a 401(k) account. They will also be the go-to person for both new hires and long-standing employees looking to make the most out of what their employer offers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research, analyze, and administer healthcare plans and wellness programs, from medical and dental benefits to disability and family leave.
  • Assist with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments.
  • Assist with the open enrollment process.
  • Advise employees, answer questions, and enroll staff in benefit and compensation programs.
  • Process various paperwork, especially regarding disability, FMLA absences, and employee life status changes.
  • Perform quality checks of benefits-related data.
Qualifications:
  • Construction or electrical contracting experience preferred but not necessary.
  • General knowledge of the benefits industry and employee benefit laws in multiple states, FL, CA, SC, GA.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
  • Effective planning and priority setting.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

Education requirements:

A minimum of an associate degree or bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience either assisting or leading in benefit efforts, or the equivalent of education and experience.

Work Environment

The environments are primarily office settings which is typically moderate in volume with no PPE required. Air and/or ground travel within the US to division offices required with estimated travel at up to 25%.
