NOR-LEA GENERAL HOSPITAL INC is Hiring a Pediatrician- M.D or D.O Near Hobbs, NM

Nor-Lea Hospital District, a Lovington, New Mexico company, is looking for a Physician with:

  • An M.D. or D.O.
  • Three years of residency in the specialty of Pediatrics
  • Current full unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of New Mexico

Position Goal

Provide patient care with utmost customer service, compassion, and integrity to patients/clients in a clinic setting.

Responsibilities

  1. Examines, diagnoses and treats patients of all ages.
  2. Acts as primary consultant on all cases referred by other staff providers of NLHD.
  3. From time to time, provides in-service training of staff in selected topics in Internal and adult medicine as deemed necessary by the CEO.
  4. Completes medical charts after each visit.
  5. Assists in internal quality control audits
  6. Provides quality medical care according to standards established by the NLHD quality assurance program.
  7. Provide supervision in case assignment to physician assistant or nurse practitioner, including sign off on charts.
  8. Supervises medical assistants and lab personnel in area of specific support services for patient care delivery.
  9. Attends internal and external meetings, workshops, and conferences, and participates on task performance excellence committees, as necessary and/or required by NLHD
  10. Performs all duties and services in full compliance with NLHD’s policies and protocols.
  11. Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the CEO.

  2. Sets an example as a medical professional by observing work start and stop times, giving adequate notice for absences, and follows all NLHD operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  3. Able to communicate and relate well with providers and clinical staff.
  4. Maintains appropriate licensure and certification including meeting and/or exceeding CME requirements.
  5. Observes standards of medical care.
  6. Efficient, organized and accurate.
  7. A high degree of organization and accuracy.
  8. Perform complex and comprehensive medical care on a variety of patients
  9. Must have strong listening, written and oral communication skills, with ability to communicate clearly.
  10. Must have the ability to understand and respond effectively and with sensitivity to all age spectrums.
  11. Train and evaluate assigned staff.
  12. Work with various cultural and ethnic groups in a tactful and efficient manner.
  13. Ability to work with diverse staff as needed.
  14. Demonstrate a special interest in the area of rural medicine.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Current full unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of New Mexico
  • Annual continuing medical education as required by Board specialty.
  • Must be registered and have current DEA, and other certification to legally operate as a practitioner in the State of New Mexico.
  • Must possess current CPR course completion card level C.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of medicine commensurate with his/her training. Board eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice is required; board certification is desirable.
  • Ability to speak enough Spanish to examine Spanish-speaking patients and converse on basic level strongly preferred.
