Principal Developer – (job location is New York, NY; employer is Nomura America Services, LLC) – Design and develop various modules and components of Risk platform used for market and credit risk management and capital analysis. Work with Risk Management, Risk Quants and Methodology team to understand business requirements and work towards robust and scalable application design. Forge technical design and build solutions for non-technical business users. Manage the phases of SDLC from initiation, design, development and unit testing to QA, UAT and deployment to production. Oversee risk systems, respond to business user queries, and ensure timely delivery or expected data sets within the stipulated SLAs. Diagnose and resolve technical and functional issues by engaging with business end users. Manage root cause analysis and provide tactical and long-term remediation. Reengineer risk platforms and migrate them onto public cloud infrastructure. Collaborate for and undertake disaster recovery planning and testing for risk systems. Write unit and integration test cases and test suites, and document technical design and other operational procedures. Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology and Management, plus 3 years of experience in the position offered or as Analyst, Senior Developer. All required experience must have included: operating within capital markets, market risk, and credit risk; programming in Java, C# and Python; performing data warehousing, SQL programming and using big data technologies including HDFS and Spark; and deploying large distributed applications to public cloud infrastructure using modern SDLC practices. This role entails hybrid work, with time split between working in our New York City office and flexibility to telecommute from another U.S. location. Salary: $175,000-$210,000/year.
