Essential Functions:
1. Perform an appropriate medical history, initial assessment, and examination of the patient.
2. Assess patient’s pulmonary and respiratory condition and develop a treatment plan.
3. Diagnose and treat disorders and diseases such as respiratory failure, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, asthma, etc.
4. Collaborate with other physicians to ensure the respiratory health of a patient.
5. General pulmonology critical care treatment to stabilize a patient’s suffering from pulmonary conditions that are their ability to breathe.
6. Order and prescribe treatment by physical medicine and therapy.
7. Perform typical pulmonary and critical care procedures such as chest and sinus x-rays, bronchoscopy, EKG, spirometry, peak flows (MIP, MEP, PEF), walking and nocturnal oximetry, sleep studies, etc.
8. Advises patients about long-term treatment and management for chronic illnesses.
9. Completes all documentation and paperwork in a timely manner.

Education and Work Experience:
1. Doctoral degree with directly related experience in Pulmonary and Critical Care.
2. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care.
3. DEA Certificate.
4. Ohio Licensure or the ability to obtain.
Environmental/Working Conditions:
Combination of exam rooms, medical offices, and operating room. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 10 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stress in emergency situations and irregular hours.
