Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, and contracts
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather necessary information
- Manage and organize legal documents using document management systems
- Utilize legal databases, such as Lexis-Nexis, to retrieve case law and statutes
- Assist in preparing for and attending court hearings and trials
- File legal documents with the appropriate courts and agencies
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Conduct document review for discovery purposes
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
Qualifications:
- 2 years paralegal experience required
- Experience with succession law required
- Paralegal certification is a plus
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and principles
- Proficient in using document management systems and legal research tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with phone etiquette in a professional setting
