Job Summary
Nokomis is a dynamic technology company with over 16 years history of technical excellence in the development of next-generation Radio Frequency (RF) coatings, components, and sensor systems. During the last 6 years, Nokomis has experienced rapid growth in the area of materials development, both aimed at supporting core RF technology areas and also independent technology areas, such as coatings, EO/IR sensor materials and ultra-low wear protective films. Nokomis is seeking to grow their technical staff to support continued expansion.
Nokomis is seeking innovative and ambitious scientists and engineers, to join and complement our 20 member R&D team. Successful candidates are driven by technical accomplishments and making a strong impact on the development of advanced technology. This position will focus primarily on material development, supporting current efforts on charged carrier emission suppression coatings, tribological coatings, and EO/IR sensor materials. The ideal applicant may also support projects involving RF sensing and spectral analysis for target detection, and cyber security when necessary.
The position requires strong technical ability as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will have significant opportunities in proposing new R&D efforts that would then fall under the umbrella of existing research efforts as well as near areas of interest. Successful efforts will also lead to new patents that the proposing team is expected to author.
The Materials Scientist role at Nokomis will drive innovative R&D efforts through government contracts to develop revolutionary materials and materials applications. Successful Scientists become the leaders of R&D efforts and become integral to all aspects of Nokomis activities.
Responsibilities and DutiesThe candidate will work within the materials group at Nokomis, Inc. while also being available to support other existing projects external to the materials group that are of importance to the company. The candidate will be responsible for the design and execution of technical experiments, data analysis, result reporting, and presentation. Technical writing, including proposal applications, are a significant opportunity for the ideal candidate to direct the course of future work and quickly advance to positions of leadership and greater responsibility.

Doctoral Degree or 2 years post-graduate experience with a Master’s Degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent field.Education
