A Server Assistant is a person who assists the servers in a restaurant by performing various tasks such as setting up tables, refilling drinks, clearing dishes, and delivering food. A Server Assistant may also greet customers, take orders, and handle payments. A Server Assistant should have excellent customer service skills, a friendly and professional attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Some of the responsibilities of a Server Assistant are:

• Prepare the dining area before the service by cleaning tables, chairs, and floors, and ensuring that all utensils, napkins, condiments, and menus are in place.
• Assist the servers in taking orders from customers, delivering food and drinks to the tables, and checking on customer satisfaction.
• Refill water glasses, coffee cups, and other beverages as needed, and offer bread, butter, or other appetizers to customers.
• Clear plates, cutlery, and glasses from the tables after customers finish their meals, and dispose of them in the appropriate bins or trays.
• Help the servers with any special requests from customers, such as dietary restrictions, allergies, or substitutions.
• Handle customer complaints or issues in a polite and professional manner, and escalate them to the manager if necessary.
• Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the dining area, kitchen, and restrooms throughout the service by wiping spills, sweeping crumbs, sanitizing surfaces, and restocking supplies.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures of the restaurant.

Some of the skills and qualifications of a Server Assistant are:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service and menu items.
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff in a courteous and respectful manner.
• Ability to multitask and handle multiple requests in a timely manner.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry heavy items for long periods of time.
