Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. We are looking to hire a Lab Manager to help suppour Navy Mission out of the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
Noblis MSD is seeking a motivated individual to join our team to perform Test Engineering and Lab Management duties for a growing Navy new acquisition and in-service ship program.
Roles and responsibilities include:
1. Perform system software/hardware testing related to shipboard Control Systems and associated equipment within a lab environment.
2. Setup and Lockdown the development and test environment, coordinating with Lead Software Developers
3. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware issues associated with lab equipment and Control Systems components
4. Wiring of hardware and components such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and control panels
5. Perform lab environment equipment health tracking
6. Provide hardware administration, maintenance, and disaster recovery support
7. Coordinate with Information Systems Security Engineers (ISSEs) to setup the lab environment for vulnerability and anti-virus scans
8. Collaborate with ISSEs in performing cyber posture tasks as required (i.e. update McAfee software, setting up and reviewing scans)
9. Lead lab management activities for the program, including:
a. Inventory tracking and management of compliance documentation; material identification and procurement
c. Coordination with in-service engineers and Fleet stakeholders to stage and ship assets to and from ships
d. Recommend process improvements related to execution of these tasks to streamline critical test engineering projects for efficiency
d. Perform data collection, metrics development, and analysis in support of all efforts
e. Evaluate lab conditions and safety hazards, and ensure proper lab upkeep in parallel to above tasks
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering and one (1) year of professional experience
Degree may be substituted with five (5) years of professional experience and demonstrated electrical engineering and/or system administration skills
