Noblis is Hiring a Machinery Controls Tester Near Philadelphia, PA

Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.

Noblis MSD is seeking a well-rounded Machinery Controls Tester support a U.S. Navy program for engineering, testing and construction of Simulator/Stimulator technology for onboard trainers.

Responsibilities:

  • Construction of temporary and permanent fixtures to test development systems.
  • Construction may consist of assembly of circuit card chassis, wire terminations and routing between chassis, reading and development of hardware drawings.
  • Unit and formal testing at onsite lab for Machinery Control Systems (MCS) modeling and simulation, component testing, system integration testing. 
  • Unit and formal testing at onsite lab for MCS stimulator, component testing, system integration testing. 
  • Be a point of technical escalation and resolution during the project lifecycle as it relates totechnical decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related technical field. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience as an Engineering Technician
  • One year of professional experience tracing signals and diagnosing or isolating cause for electrical failures
  • One (1) year of professional experience reading, understanding, and interpreting electrical schematics
  • One (1) year of professional experience generating write ups that detail testing performed, troubleshooting steps, and findings
  • One (1) year of professional experience using a digital multimeter to conduct troubleshooting hardware systems
  • One (1) year of professional experience using a personal computer to conduct troubleshooting and complete work product tasks

Desired Qualifications

  • Requirement to work in the office at least 2-3 days a week.
  • Prior experience with U.S. Navy engineering programs and shipboard systems a plus.
  • Familiarity and/or experience with industrial control systems a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Travel (approximately 20%) to shipyards to support software installations, troubleshooting, and test events.

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.

Posted Salary Range

USD $56,000.00 - USD $98,000.00 /Yr.
