What you will own
Noble Hearts HR Consultings is the talent sourcing partner for our client Outreach. They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. Your expertise and counseling skills will help patients on their journey to recovery.
Duties:
- Conduct initial assessments and evaluations to determine the severity of substance abuse issues
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on individual needs and goals
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address underlying causes of addiction and promote positive behavioral changes
- Educate patients on the effects of substance abuse and the importance of maintaining sobriety
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including social workers and mental health counselors, to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
Experience:
- CASAC or CASAC-T, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Addiction Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
- Previous experience in addiction counseling or related field preferred
- Knowledge of behavioral health and mental health counseling techniques
- Familiarity with acute care settings, such as hospitals or ICU units, is a plus
- Strong understanding of physiology and the effects of substance abuse on the body
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
