As a nurse, you are an unsung hero of healthcare; whether it is properly diagnosing patients, providing empathetic treatment, or being a therapist to a patient, you get it done correctly, efficiently, and with genuine passion. Outreach has an opening for a full-time Registered Nurse to provide and/or coordinate health services and health-related-care to residents of our three Brentwood, Long Island locations.

What you will own

• Performing on-site health services acute and chronic health needs of residents
• Helping residents and family members of residents schedule appointments and conduct any follow-up, as necessary
• Coordinating with Agency psychiatrist ensuring proper medication fills and refills are properly setup
• Providing medical attention during medical health emergencies
  • Training key team members in how to deal with medical health emergencies when you are not onsite
• Conducting health assessments and providing medication recommendations

• Strong interpersonal communication (written and spoken)
• Culturally sensitive and empathetic
• Proficient computer skills (Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Flexibility in shift coverage or swap
• Familiarity with electronic documentation programs

Negotiables

• Experience with AVATAR
• Bilingual in Spanish

Non-negotiables

• MUST BE NYS Registered Nurse
• MUST BE ABLE to work occasional holidays
• 2 years' experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting or similar
• Familiarity with community resources related to substance abuse disorders, mental health disorders, and misc. chronic medical conditions
