New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU), a Hispanic Serving Institution in Northern New Mexico, seeks a visionary leader with an innovative spirit for the position of Associate Dean (50%)/Professor or Associate Professor (50%) of the School of Education. The Associate Dean serves under the Chief Academic and Administrative Officer, the Dean of the School of Education, at NMHU. The Associate Dean assists the Dean of the School of Education in leading faculty and staff in hiring, annual evaluations, recommendations for reappointment, promotion and tenure decisions, and post-tenure review. This is a 12 month position.New Mexico Highlands University's School of Education provides programs to prepare educators as well as professionals in: Teacher Education (Early Childhood Multicultural Education, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education); Special Education; Curriculum and Instruction (Bilingual Education, ESL, Reading, and Alternative Licensure); Educational Leadership (Licensure and Non-Licensure), and Counseling (Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, and School Counseling).The candidate will have experience and skills to assist the Dean in advancing the School of Education and P-12 education in the State of New Mexico to include wraparound and mental health programming.The Associate Dean reports directly to the Dean at the School of Education.
