Position Description

Position Title: Credentialing Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

We are currently looking for a full time Credentialing Specialist. The primary function will be hospital facility credentialing & state medical licensing. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

· Coordinate credentialing and re-credentialing process for the physicians at participating facilities in several states.

· Maintain the highest level of professionalism when dealing with all client’s information.

· Follow Credentialing Department protocols and guidelines. Follow verbal and written instructions from Practice Administrator & Credentialing Manager.

· Prepare reports, case logs and make certain that facilities and staff meet federal and state guidelines per Joint Commission standards and requirements.

· Perform Primary Source verification on all providers.

· Maintaining and organizing credential files for the medical staff. Including but not limited to: state medical license, CME, COI, immunizations, medical education documents, etc.

· Utilize available credentialing software and electronic platforms for tracking applications, updating hospital affiliations and information for provider enrollment.

· Maintain credentialing calendars for timely renewals.

· Apply for and maintain Interpreting Physician state licensure.

Necessary Skills, Attributes, & Knowledge requirements:

· Strong communication skills, oral and written, over the phone and in person or remote are essential; friendly helpful attitude.

· Responsible and dependable.

· Organized and completes tasks.

· Strong work ethic and flexibility required.

· The ability to provide encouragement.

· Analytical skills experience and sound judgment to make decisions.

· Self-motivated problem-solver with professional demeanor.

· Must be able to seek assistance from Manager if delays arise or are repetitive.

· The ability to achieve cooperation and collaboration among team members.

· Demonstrate objectivity, professionalism, integrity and honesty in dealing with people at all levels and facilitates an open and honest environment.

· Basic office skills. Typing and 10-key skills are a must.

· Ability to use whatever tools and equipment is available to get the job done.

· Knowledgeable in multiple Microsoft OS’s, VOIP and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).

· Experience with using FSMB/FCVS, NPSB, HHS.OIG, VeriDoc, IMLCC, AMA Profiles

· The ability to work with little or no supervision.

IONM or OON experience preferred, but not required. Qualified or certified for National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS), Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS), or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions:

Work schedule: Onsite, Monday – Friday with flexible hours and the option to work a Hybrid schedule after one year of employment.

Regular work in an office setting

Requires being available during non-scheduled work time

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds.

Ability to sit for long periods of time
