NLogic is Hiring a NL-24-006 Network/System Administrator Near Huntsville, AL

The System Administrator is responsible for implementing security procedures and tools, developing systems administration standard operating procedures, resolving hardware and software interface and interoperability problems, and ensuring systems availability. The System Administrator is also responsible for maintaining systems configuration (hardware/software), and the integration of systems fixes, patch updates and enhancements utilizing manual and automated procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Research Federal, DoD, and local unclassified and classified security trends.
  • Plan system upgrades based on present and future requirements by using trend analysis and projected advancements in technology.
  • Participates in initial planning, system architecture development, equipment specification, procurement, installation, configuration, operation, administration, monitoring, and systems architecture documentation, of network and application server hardware, operating system software, telecommunications systems, peripheral network equipment, and Automated Information Systems.
  • Provide comments on engineering studies, installation plans, test plans and performs acceptance testing.
  • Assess the security posture of classified and unclassified IS using a variety of automated tools.
  • Perform analysis to determine root causes of vulnerabilities and best methodology to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
  • Utilize vulnerability assessment tools, such as Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), McAfee Policy Auditor, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and/or Open Vulnerability Assessment Language (OVAL) to detect and remediate weaknesses/vulnerabilities classified and unclassified ISs that may be missed with other tools or configuration settings to effectively remediate any vulnerability findings.
  • Assist in the deployment of routine and emergency system updates.
  • Responsible for preliminary testing to assess potential impacts of deploying updates
  • Maintain systems and tools with the latest system releases to mitigate threats and maintain the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) program.
  • Support development of secure computer baselines (e.g. Windows10 SHB) by assessing baselines for required security settings and configurations and ensuring compliancy with RMF standards.
  • Review and verify currency of user accounts, accesses, and logins. Remove departing users' accounts before departure. Terminate inactive accounts verified as no longer required. Identify and suspend user accounts for the following types of actions: actions that knowingly threaten, damage, or harm the Information Systems (IS), network or communications security; and revocation, suspension, or denial of security clearance or interim security clearance investigations expiration.
  • Implement information systems security technology and procedures, to include Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and multi-factor authentication (e.g. RSA SecurID) technologies that address access control and authentication of users and transmitted information.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of HBSS system components and supported deployed system modules. Monitor the performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability of installed HBSS systems through the application of vendor and/or locally designed manuals, guidelines, policies and/or procedures.

  • Current or willingness to obtain/maintain a Technical Level II IA Certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M certification (Security )
