Summary:
Manager, Financial Projects is responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of all aspects of NJ TRANSIT's financial projects activities. The role is focused on implementing all activities related initiatives to modernize and upgrade NJ TRANSIT's financial systems and large-scale internal projects. This is a multi-disciplinary position that requires finance / financial analysis, communication, and project management experience with strong technical knowledge, and a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across NJ TRANSIT divisions and departments.
Roles and Responsibilities:

• Review existing business processes and systems with a focus on simplifying, standardizing, and automating them for efficiency.
• Assist in coordinating with IT, outside consultants and various user departments on the implementation of major system developments and upgrades.
• Assist in testing with regards to system upgrades and implementations.
• Supports the origination, analysis, structuring, documentation, and execution of NJ Transit's finance projects.
• Assists in performing Gap analysis of NJ Transit's financial processes to identify areas of improvement and develops an action plan to close the gaps.
• Documents and flowcharts finance prosses and assists in creating and updating finance policies and procedures.
• Interacts with other NJ TRANSIT divisions and departments to understand objectives and recognize challenges that must be addressed when working on projects.
• Manages deadlines and maintains accountability from cross-functional teams to ensure successful completion of projects and initiatives.
• Track, analyzes and reports on project status, key metrics and prepares financial analysis.
• Provides interdepartmental financial support, conducts Ad Hoc reporting, data analysis and all other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Minimum:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3 years of demonstrated experience in implementation of major projects or system upgrades that impact a finance department.
• Strong, presentation and computer skills.

Preferred:

• Master's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields.

Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Demonstrates initiative and takes ownership of work.

Preferred:

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Oracle Cloud Experience
