Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manages the Response Center's day-to-day operations, including administration and support for field station and terminal facility matters.
  • Interacts with several departments: Engineering, Transportation, Rail Field Revenue, and NJTPD also will act as a liaison with the local municipalities.
  • Manages Reports and Notifies NJ Transit personnel of station damage, vandalism, ticket office issues, alarm malfunctions, station closures, and mark-offs.
  • Oversees the Prepared and Daily Activity reports and Various monthly reports prior to distribution.
  • Manages coverage for the Newark and Hoboken Division Stations Department and assistance to the Rail Field Revenue Department with coverage on the Extra Boards and daily mark-offs.
  • Enforces departmental policies and procedures for the Response Center staff.
  • Ensures applicable labor agreements related to agreement employees are being followed.
  • Training Response Center staff in database applications and programming as needed.
  • Monitors Response Center personnel absenteeism and discipline or other reports as needed.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
  • An associate degree.
  • Supervisory experience is a requirement.
  • A Minimum of 5 years of experience in Rail Operations.
  • One year of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Additional desirable qualifications include experience in Operations, Facilities Management, or Transportation.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite with the ability to manipulate databases and generate reports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of the TCU Agreement is a plus
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • A valid driver’s License is required.
