NJ Spine and Wellness is seeking an energetic, motivated, and articulate team player to join our team! A Physician Extender will provide direct care under the supervision and direction of a Sports Medicine Provider. The ideal candidate will effectively educate patients on medical, functional, and conservative treatment plans. Must have an interest in joining a fast paced environment and ensuring optimal outcomes.

ON THE JOB TRAINING PROVIDED!!! (Must have valid state of NJ ATC Licensure to be considered for the role)

***Basic understanding of patient care and medical terminology preferred, not required.***

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Create/aid in patient retention
• Identify and distribute appropriate DME
• Execute administrative tasks with Clinical Director to identify appropriate orthopedic patients for consultations
• Record patient vitals (HPI,PFSH, etc.), test results, and other medical information while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Conduct post-procedure follow-up next day
• Prepare treatment rooms for examinations, assist with medical procedures and other patient care
• Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including but not limited to, HIPAA and OSHA
• Coordinate with the Medical Team to address patient questions or concerns
• Partner with the Location Supervisor to execute additional administrative duties including scheduling requirements and confirmation calls
• Maintain evaluation room presentation standards

Requirements:

• Valid NJ ATC License REQUIRED
• 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
• Degree from and accredited Athletic Training Education Program
• Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for scope of practice
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
