NJ/NY Gotham FC is Hiring a Director of Integrated Marketing Near Jersey, NJ
NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.
The Role:
Gotham FC is seeking a Director of Integrated Marketing to lead the creation, planning, and execution of creative endeavors for the club. This individual will be responsible for driving a highly creative and impactful marketing plan for the club, developing content that amplifies the club’s social and digital presence, and leading with a highly creative, outside of the box approach to increaseing overall awareness of the club.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the planning of Gotham's marketing channel across ticket sales, game day, events, and other marketing activities
Lead cross-channel marketing, including creative execution, for all key customer moments, ticketing and events
Create a marketing plan to drive ticket sales for Gotham's Founder's Club, season's ticket holders, partial plans and single game tickets
Plan & execute promotional events to drive new ticket purchases, including watch parties, player announcement events, fan events and other special events
Craft the marketing strategy for each individual Theme Night & Celebrations; Create and manage a multi-channel marketing plan that uses fan experience, merchandise, special guests and cultural events as marketing moments uniquely for each game
Ensure digital (email/SMS, web, paid, digital, etc.), social & content plans support and amplify marketing strategy
Own development, design and sales of merchandise for fans, including pre-season, themed and special event merchandise
Own marketing activation for game day, including (door giveaways, fan communication, Fan Fest, onsite creative, etc.) and entertainment, alongside Fan Experience
Work alongside the Partnership team in developing content and marketing strategies that highlight and amplify our key partnerships
Ensure celebrity owners and other key talent have a role to play in amplifying Gotham
Ensure on-time and on-budget marketing approaches that hit brand and sales goals
Qualifications:
At least 7 years of prior experience
Experience working in an integrated marketing role, with growth, brand, events and retention marketing experience required; Sports and ticketing experience preferred but not required
Minimum of 1 year experience managing a marketing team of at least 2 employees
Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment
Ability to build strategies and manage tactical execution across all channels
Experience creating and effectively managing a marketing calendar and budget
Cross-functional stakeholder experience with Partnership, Events, Comms and Ticketing teams
Highly effective communicator, both written and verbal
Craft and communicate compelling narratives, tactical execution
Proven creativity and capable project management skills
Experience with marketing analytics and an understanding of data outputs. Has the ability to explore results to make thoughtful and strategic decisions for the organization, while understanding the impact on the business and the return on investment
Capability & Other Characteristics:
Experience working in the sports, ticket sales and/or live event space preferred
Knowledge of the surrounding NJ/NY area with regard to potential marketing opportunities
Ability to think outside of the box and create unique content, while ensuring projects are completed in a timely manner
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Location:
Based at Gotham FC’s business office, which is located at 15 Exchange Place, Jersey City, New Jersey, on a hybrid working schedule which consists of three core in-office/in-person days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two non-core days (Monday and Friday), with the option of being in the business office or remote. Ability to attend all home games and any mandatory events as well as away games, as necessary. A willingness to travel for other business-related needs, as they arise. Ability to work at the team’s soccer operations office in Whippany, New Jersey, as needed. Gotham FC requires its associates to live in its market, that is, within reasonable commuting distance of Gotham FC’s offices, practice facility and Red Bull Arena.
