Machine Operators are responsible for setup and operation of converting equipment such as presses, slitters, guillotine cutters, rotary cutters, saws, and laminators to produce finished parts to required specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Works on different types of equipment to carry out a particular phase of the production cycle.
2. Reviews work order requirement for process, materials, equipment, tooling, and inspections.
3. Inspects and maintains equipment, tooling, and work area in accordance with company procedures and policies.
4. Follows all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.
5. Handles raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products per prescribed methods.
6. Verifies correct identification and specifications of raw materials and WIP.
7. Sets up equipment and tooling according to work order specifications.
8. Verifies setup through inspection of product or prescribed methods.
9. Produces product to work order specifications. Troubleshoots process and makes adjustments as necessary throughout the run to produce product within specifications.
11. Utilizes rulers, tape measures, calipers or other prescribed gages to inspect product.
12. Records order and inspection data in work order and in computer. May also record specific inspection data in inspection forms/tags.
13. Is responsible for housekeeping of work area per 5S and safety policies.
14. Communicates all problems related to processes, materials, equipment, tooling, work order instructions, inspections, work area, or unsafe work conditions immediately to management.
15. Participates in continuous improvement activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Sufficient mechanical aptitude to setup equipment and tools to specified parameters, and maintain and troubleshoot settings throughout run.
· Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
· Ability to follow instructions, given orally or in writing.
· Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions.
· Sufficient reading, writing, and math ability to follow detailed written instructions, perform inspections, and record output and status.
· Must be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others.
· Must be adaptable to changing schedules/priorities.
· Ability to read and interpret prints, visual aids, or other technical documentation.
· Dexterity and preciseness required to operate gages and testing equipment.
· Sufficient visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect product.
· Must be resourceful in the problem solving.
· Must be detail oriented
· Must be goal oriented.
· Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
· Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety gloves and hearing protectors. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
