NITELINES USA is Hiring a Mammography Technologist Near Mountain Home, ID

NiteLines USA is looking for mammography technologists to join the team! 

This position would be working at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho.

The performance hours of the MTF are as follows:

7:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday NTE 40 hours per week.

Monday through Friday except for Federal Holidays and ACC Family Days.

ARRT Cert required.

The applicant must have been continuously employed in the practice of diagnostic radiology or in training for 24 months within the last 36 months.

Projected start date: August 28, 2023

Responsibilities of a diagnostic mammography technologist include:

Location: Mountain Home AFB, Idaho

Service: Sonographer/Radiologic Technologist:

Mammography

Place of Performance: The work to be performed under this contract will be at the

Radiology Flight, Building 6000, Mountain Home AFB, ID

Recognized Holidays: Contract HCWs will not be required to work on federally.

Hours of Performance: The performance hours of the MTF are as follows:

0700-1700, Monday through Friday NTE 40 hours per week.

Scheduling: Monday through Friday except for Federal Holidays and ACC Family

Days. The scheduled ACC Family Days for 2018 are: 16 Feb, 25 May, 31 Aug, 23 Nov, 24 Dec, and 31 Dec. The schedule for ACC Family days will be provided once released but will not exceed a total of 6 days.

Closures: During a planned closure of the facility due to training, holiday or unplanned

closure due to unusual and compelling circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, military

emergencies, severe weather), the Contractor will be compensated for the unplanned

closure (personal services only).

Mission Essential: The following labor categories are designated as mission essential:

None

Labor Category: Radiologic Technologist: Mammography

Degree/Education (5.2.4): Certificate; Graduate from an academic program accredited

by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support (5.2.3): Certified by the American

Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

Experience: The applicant must have been continuously employed in the practice of

diagnostic radiology or in training for 24 months within the last 36 months.

Board Certification (5.2.6.4.4): None

Licensure/Registration: Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist by

the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

HCW Duties (5.1 Task 1): The duties for the HCW are as follows:

Core Duties:

Perform routine diagnostic radiological procedures/services as appropriate to the TO.

Adhere to radiation safety policies and procedures in accordance with Radiology

Department policies and procedures.

Send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to MTF protocol.

Correctly position the patient for the examination and make technical adjustments

necessary for the required examination. Determine if any special patient preparation is

required.

Process digital images and submit for interpretation by radiologists.

Document all procedures and maintain records in accordance with MTF policy.

As directed, perform system calibrations and quality control tasks according to the

manufacturer and MTF policy. Recognize artifacts and equipment errors and notify

designated Government personnel of outlying values.

Initiate repair call procedures for equipment malfunctions by notifying designated

Government personnel. Report problems to the Biomedical Repair Section and record

the problem condition in the trouble call log book.

Observe and report to the radiologist any symptoms which have direct bearing on the

patient's condition as a result of adverse reaction to contrast media and inform the

radiologist of any condition requiring his/her attention. Recognize the need for and

institute the necessary emergency measures for situations where a person requires

resuscitation procedures due to cardiac or respiratory arrest.

Specific Duties:

Receive patients explain procedures, and provide appropriate care. Correctly

position the patient for the examination and make adjustments necessary for the

required examination. Determine if any special patient preparation is required.

Operate mammography units to include stereotactic breast biopsy unit.

Receive and interpret requests or instructions for mammography exams. Perform

daily, monthly, quarterly and annual quality control inspections on all

mammography units and film processors. Perform daily warm ups of all

mammography units. Maintain mammography film files and hang films for

comparison.

Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms to include spot compressions

and magnification views when necessary. Set up and assist radiologists with

needle localization and stereotactic breast biopsy procedures.

Identify abnormalities and determine need for additional mammography views

per department protocol (either before or after consulting with department

radiologists). Notify physician of significant exams requiring immediate attention.

Maintain and clean mammography units, film processor, and cassettes on a

regular basis in accordance with Radiology department, Food & Drug

Administration (FDA), and Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA)

standards. Stock and maintain an adequate level of supplies required for

mammography exams and procedures. Recommend necessary monthly repairs

when diagnostic quality is degraded.

Make minor adjustments on equipment. Differentiate artifacts from normal or

pathological processes and recognize electronic equipment limitations. Program

the examination equipment. Set up the machine and scanning techniques to be

employed. Perform all mammography examinations according to department

protocols.

Recognize the need for and institute necessary emergency measures for

situations where a person requires resuscitation procedures due to cardiac or

respiratory arrest.
