NiteLines USA Inc. is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Devens, MA

We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant in the Devens, MA area.

Place of Performance: The Dental Assistant Services will be performed on-site in the Health Services Department at the Federal Correctional Institution Devens located in Devens, MA. Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm You must pass mandatory background, credit check and drug screening.

Sign-On Bonus: $1,000!

Qualified candidates will be expected to submit the following:

  • Current resume
  • Dental Assistant certification / diploma
  • CPR (front & back)
  • Proof of immunizations

  • Paid Time Off (Executive Order 13706) - effective after one year of service with Nitelines USA, Inc.: One (1) hour accrual per every 30 hours work up to 56 hours per year.
  • Vacation - effective after one year of service with Nitelines USA, Inc.: Two (2) weeks paid vacation after one (1) year of service with a contractor or successor, three (3) weeks after five (5) years, and four (4) weeks after 15 years.

Education and Experience:

  • The Dental Assistant shall possess specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school. Training must include dental radiology and radiology safety.
  • The Dental Assistant shall be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
  • The Dental Assistant shall have a minimum of one (1) - two (2) years of experience providing Dental Assistant services. Bilingual oral communication skills and experience in a clinical correctional setting are preferred but not required.

Description of Duties:

  • Assists Dental Officer in dental specialty sections: restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthetics, and examinations.
  • Retrieve patient's records and escorts patients to proper dental specialty section; seats and prepares patient for attending Dental Officer
  • Assists Dental Officer by preparing dental instruments, essential materials, drugs, and medications
  • Passes instruments, retracts tissues, irrigates oral cavity, and operates aspirator
  • Observes patient's responses, and assists patient for dismissal from the Dental Clinic
  • Gives instructions for subsequent dental appointments
  • Makes necessary entries on dental treatment records (both electronic and paper records)
  • Prepares dental treatment room for the next patient
  • Assists in the treatment of emergency cases.
  • Provides dental health education
  • Charting for dental screening exams
  • Preparation of patients for periodontal surgery
  • Dental and periodontal charting
  • Places temporary fillings
  • Prepares places, and removes packs
  • Places and removes rubber dams
  • Maintains dental equipment
  • Cleans, sharpens, and sterilizes instruments
  • Performs daily inspection of equipment and makes minor repairs
  • Reports defective equipment, or utilizes corrective action
  • Prepares entries for patient's records

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $29.72 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
