Job Title: Team Lead GPS QA

Job Summary

The Team Lead GPS QA position leads a cross-functional team that has the responsibility for the continuous development, delivery, management and improvement of work activities as well as processes which directly support NiSource’s GPS Precision Data Program. Leading a team in the GPS Program Support organization by providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to team members to ensure business objectives are achieved while providing exceptional execution.

Key Results:

  • Stimulates a positive, continuous improvement environment with strong emphasis on the safe and reliable delivery of energy services at highest value for the customer
  • Drives execution with accuracy as the premier focus
  • Accurate, timely and quality recording of natural gas facilities records through GPS Program collection activities
  • Excellent communications with mobile workforce, field operations, system operations, meter-to cash, call center, construction services, and all others that may apply to ensure collaborative and effective partnerships
  • Assess and appropriately distribute workload to employees
  • Departmental support systems and tools are utilized and work is coordinated among various departments resulting in effective scheduling, coordinating, assigning, and data reporting
  • Management of staffing levels to ensure timely completion of all assignments, goals, objectives, and exceptional accuracy.
  • Motivated and engaged teams focused on exceptional execution of work plans and business objectives
  • Robust succession plan in place to promote sustainable leadership continuity

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily supervision, technical advice, training and information to team members
  • Collaboratively drive identification, assessment and execution of ongoing process improvement opportunities in terms of user experience, equipment/software functionality, quality and productivity appropriately making recommendations to leadership
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate workflow. Coordinate work activities to meet operational requirements
  • Ensure the GIS data structure and data quality support the effective use of spatial data in applications throughout the enterprise
  • Drive to implementation actions and processes to ensure the safe, reliable and high value delivery of service to customers
  • Actively seek and keep up-to-date with professional/technical developments and emerging related technologies relevant to the program
  • Coach and develop each team member to assist them in reaching their maximum potential. Document each team member’s short and long-term career objectives and guide them in creating robust development plans
  • Build effective partnerships with appropriate field leaders to ensure a high level of collaboration between the organizations
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement within the team
  • Be visible, check in with team members, be proactive in managing emerging issues
  • Work closely with other Leaders and Managers to promote unity and role-model collaborative relationships in meeting Integration Center objectives

Required Qualifications for Position

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of experience in Damage Prevention, GPS Data Collection, GIS administration or gas utility operations experience.
  • Supervisory experience or proven leadership ability
  • Demonstrated skill in organizing, scheduling, and planning work to maximize operating effectiveness
  • Ability to assess and make sound decisions
  • Valid Motor Vehicle License
  • Must be able to travel-approximately 10%, throughout the state ONLY.
  • Proficiency in basic PC applications

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

  • Acquaintance of Distribution Operations and policies
  • Quality assurance program experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree from an accredited college, or equivalent work experience
  • Customer information systems, work Management, GPS collector systems experience.
  • Performance and productivity analysis experience

This position can be located anywhere within the NiSource service territory with a Columbus, OH preference.

$91,000.00 - $136,600.00
