Associate Power BI Administrator

Full Time Perm

Salary: $31.68 - $47.59 per hour

Way of Work: Hybrid – 2 days in office

Location: Columbus, OH

Enterprise Data and Analytics is a new organization at NiSource. Our team’s vision is to deliver sustainable value at the intersection of strategy and analytics. The Analytics Enablement & Platform Governance team will be responsible for the enablement of self-service analytical and business intelligence capabilities and development of business intelligence solutions, processes, standards and best practices for the enterprise

The Associate Power BI Administrator is responsible for administering, governing and supporting Microsoft Power BI in an enterprise environment. This person has strong experience creating and managing documentation, understands the importance of standards and governance of technical systems, and understands how security and data retention are critical to protecting company data and platforms.

In this role you will also have responsibility for developing and supporting data and analytics solutions that drive value. As a Developer you will partner with business teams to fully understand the problem, extract and prep data, build analytic models, visualizations, and front-end tools needed to infuse insights into our business process.

The Assocate Power BI Administrator contributes to the development of analytics best practices, data governance policies and data stewardship procedures, and assists in the ongoing sustainability of solutions by both adhering to and promoting process and technology standards.

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Support, administer, and govern analytics platforms (Power BI and Tableau)

• Support the analytics community of practice for internal team members and business users to be proficient in analytical tools

• Maintain and improve business intelligence development standards and best practices

• Implement, manage and govern Power BI data gateways

• Support enterprise initiatives to transition data reporting to Power BI from other platforms

• Develops and implements analytics solutions (including data models, data sets, reports, dashboards, and integrated analytics) to solve business needs, accelerate insights and inform actions and adhere to data governance and BI policies and standards.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Experience listed below could be obtained through a combination of school work, classes, research, or any relevant previous job or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree

• 6 months of experience in Power BI or Tableau

• 6 months of experience with data acquisition methods and tools (Tableau Prep, SQL, Python)

• 6 months of experience leading projects or teams
