NISC is Hiring a Mobile User Experience Designer Near Saint Louis, MO

Position Overview:

Are you a creative and passionate designer with a proven track record of creating visually stunning and user-centric web and mobile experiences? NISC is seeking a talented Mobile Designer with a strong background in user experience (UX) design to join our dynamic team. As a member of our design team, you'll have the opportunity to shape the digital landscape by crafting intuitive, engaging, and impactful user interfaces.

Essential Duties: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and other designers to create outstanding user experiences that align with business goals.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications that showcase a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to iterate and improve designs based on user insights.
  • Translate complex ideas and concepts into visually compelling and easy-to-understand designs.
  • Create and maintain design systems, pattern libraries, and style guides to ensure design consistency across platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging design technologies to continuously enhance your skillset and contribute fresh ideas.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3 years of professional experience in mobile app design, with a strong emphasis on user experience.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
  • Deep familiarity with Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design for Android
  • Familiarity with Declarative Frameworks, Swift UI and designing for re-use, maintainability and scalability
  • Understand Agile methodologies and facilitate efficient collaboration with cross-functional teams on large system designs
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of mobile design projects with an emphasis on UX/UI.
  • Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
  • Solid understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present and explain design decisions to both design and non-design stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering pixel-perfect designs.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent telephone/email etiquette and an ability to deal effectively with Member/Customers. 
  • Advanced level knowledge of the utility or telecom industries and/or experience working with business accounting software.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to travel as needed up to 25% to meet the goals and objectives of assigned projects.

Education Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
