What you can expect to work on…
This position plays a key role in the production of various medical radioisotopes using extraction methods developed at Niowave. The products will be shipped around the world for use in cancer therapies. Some of the daily activities include but are not limited to:
  • Handle contaminated equipment in a glovebox and fume hood.
  • Take and measures radiological samples of surfaces, gases, and liquids.
  • Perform radiological contamination surveys & periodic checks of safety equipment.
  • Spectroscopy of α- and β/γ-emitting samples.
  • Participate in periodic reviews of component labor routing, material requirements, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Contribute to inventory management, including cleaning supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Demonstrate accountability of self in following radiation and general safety procedures and promotes a culture of safety by helping others to do the same.
  • Maintain records in a comprehensive, reproducible, and accurate manner.
  • Maintain compliance with cGMP practices; participating in quality training and event retrospectives. Handling of sealed and unsealed radioactive sources.
What you need to succeed…
  • Associate degree in Health Physics, Physics, Chemistry, Nuclear Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills (verbal & written).
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and participate creatively and collaboratively within a team.
Great to have…
In addition to the minimum education/experience:
  • Bachelor degree in Health Physics, Physics, Chemistry, Nuclear Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with radioactive material.
  • Knowledgeable in cGMP regulations.
  • Experience in a laboratory or related field.
Job Conditions
  • Shift work may include evening, night, and early morning shifts, as well as fixed or rotating schedules.
  • Standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Lift and move up to 25 lbs.
  • Required to handle & work with radioactive material.
  • Handle chemicals and solutions.
  • Wear safety glasses, goggle, gloves, lab coat, and/or Tyvek suit.
Niowave’s standard working hours are shifts between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
