Nimble Therapeutics is Hiring an Associate Scientist II / Scientist - Immunology Near Philadelphia, PA

Nimble Therapeutics is embarking on its next phase of growth by initiating the build-out of its Drug Discovery group in the Greater Philadelphia area, augmenting the company’s discovery capabilities in Madison, WI. Initially located at B Labs at the Cira Center in downtown Philadelphia, the drug discovery group will focus on the biological and pharmacological characterization and optimization of therapeutics peptides, in addition to supporting the progression of programs into clinical development.

We are seeking an associate-level scientist to join our Immunology and Pharmacology group which is focused on developing and running cellular assays to characterize and optimize peptides from our drug discovery programs. This position will play a key role on program teams by generating decision making data on the immunological and pharmacological properties of compounds.

This position reports to the Head of Biology. Key responsibilities for the role are:

  • Work with scientists across different disciplines to design and set up in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo assays support multiple platforms/programs
  • Utilize flow-based technologies and develop novel flow panels to profile immune cells and stromal cells from mouse, rat, NHPs, and human samples
  • Study cellular and molecular mechanisms of action using in vitro/in vivo and ex vivo systems
  • Isolate and prepare cells for flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISPOT, and cytokine analysis
  • Participate in designing and running pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and inflammatory models
  • Analyze various samples using qPCR, MSD, ELISA, ELISPOT and Flow Cytometry
  • Statistical analysis of experimental data from in vitro/in vivo studies. Experience with Flowjo is a plus.
  • Maintain detailed and well-organized electronic lab notebook

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, accomplished scientist with a strong knowledge of immunology and molecular biology and its application to disease in an industry/biotech setting. They will deploy innovative scientific concepts and approaches and execute experimental plans. We are looking for team player with a track record of accomplishments in developing and executing innovative assays and methodologies. This position will be working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities for the role include:

  • BSc with 4 years of experience, MS degree with 1 years of experience, or PhD in Immunology, Microbiology, Cell and Molecular Biology or related disciplines (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Extensive technical and hands-on experience with flow-based characterization of immune cells and cell-based assay development
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects and collaboratively across different teams with diverse experience
  • Assists in vivo pharmacology leads with dosing (PO, IV, SQ, IM, IP) and bleeding (tail nicks, submandibular, intracardiac) of mice as needed and rats is not required but a plus
  • Self-motivated, curious, accomplishes goals with minimal oversight
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ability to work well with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and cultures

Preferred experience:

  • 1 years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry working in an immunology laboratory
  • Strong expertise in cellular immunology and T cell biology
