JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: QC Inspector
The ideal QC Inspector candidate will be experienced in automotive parts inspection or equivalent Quality Inspection roles, experience with quality inspection tools, i.e. Gage/Fixtures, Scales, etc. A strong quality focus is required with sound decision making skills since the Quality Inspector may be the last person to inspect the parts before they are shipped out to the customer.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Perform 100% Quality checks on all product listed on Quality Matrix comparing product to quality standards
2. Assist with Quality Hold Cage inspection, dispositioning; sorting, rework, scrap.
3. Fill out and accurately maintain all necessary Quality documentation; checklists and forms.
4. Aid in training of new operators on identifying Quality related issues on new or existing products.
5. Communicate & report Quality concerns to Quality Management, Machine Operators & others as required.
6. Will perform other duties as assigned by QC Leads and Quality Management.
7. Coordinate product movement between QC work area and Production Hold area and or Warehouse.
SKILLS:
1. Requires 6-12 months to acquire training necessary to perform all inspection functions, most of the training is obtained through On the Job training.
2. Receive, identify, inspect, measure, and approve manufactured parts.
3. Interact with supervisors, techs, QC Lead, QA Manager, Engineering Department regarding directions to follow and provide feedback on jobs and tasks assigned.
4. Accurately document all inspection results, logging all deviations from specs appropriately and continually monitoring all parts in process.
5. Provide reports to the QA Manager (thorough documentation, a willingness to share ideas and the ability to accept constructive criticism is necessary).
6. Must have organizational skills and a high attention to detail.
7. Requires manual dexterity in using various measuring devices as required.
8. Must have adequate skills to understand, read and comprehend Quality documents and to communicate the same to Production and Quality personnel.
9. Follows quality procedures (ISO 9001 / TS16949) by demonstrating knowledge of the quality manual, procedures and work instructions ensuring that quality procedures are followed by employees and suspect product is properly quarantined.
10. Must have decision making capabilities and comfortable making judgement calls.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Proficient in the English language, reading, writing and communicating. Bi-lingual is a plus.
3. Work extremely well with others, (Teamwork) with a Positive Attitude.
4. Follows instructions well, able to perform basic Math and Excellent Time Management Skills.
5. Experience with computers is preferred.
6. Must adhere to Quality Standards (Procedures & Work Instructions).
7. Uses personal protective equipment as required.
8. Requires visual, attention to detail and concentration.
9. Involves lifting, bending, carrying, pulling and reaching.
10. Requires the ability to use both hands.
11. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
Capable of working Overtime as business needs require.
