We have a lot of opportunity for growth at NIFCO! Job Summary: Lead the Quality team from pre-production to production activities while maintaining the QMS system and maintaining IATF16949 standards. Essential Functions:
Promote a Safe working environment.
Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service.
Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
Create, document, and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
Managing and coordinating Internal Audit Program by planning and coordinating audits and ensuring resolution of audit findings
Proactively identify improvement opportunities (potential gaps between process and system) across all business functions, developing tools that allow for visibility into process bottlenecks and inconsistencies.
Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
Utilize LEAN Six Sigma practices to implement and improve plant quality standards and processes.
Trains and mentors QC personnel. Assigns work tasks to lab members to ensure an efficient QC function.
Work closely with Project Engineering, Design, Production, and other departments as required.
Identify and engage NAM resources.
Manage the Quality Engineers training and development.
Manage and audit to IATF16949 standards.
Maintains Quality documentation, including but not limited to Control Plans, FMEAs, PPAP, etc.
Prepare and submit Customer PPAPs.
Maintain files for all test results, gage calibrations, dock audits, production records, and material certifications daily, weekly and monthly.
Complete/update PPAP packages.
Establish and maintain all quality documents, samples, customer contact, supplier development, production start – up, product launch, and correction of production variances and warrant analysis.
Maintain quality control sampling system, procedures, and statistical techniques.
Responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as stated in EMS policy.
Responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the IATF16948 standards.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in quality or engineering
A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Quality/Production Management in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Exhibits the ability to build effective business relationships internally and externally.
Plastics Industry, OEM and New Model experience
Strong Problem Solving skills and working knowledge of problem solving tools
Ability to lead a department in all aspects.
Ability to clearly communicate and report to all levels of management.
Ability to demonstrate leadership and effectively participate and contribute to team projects.
Must be analytical and make sound decisions based off of data and budget awareness.
The expectation is that this position will travel as much as the business dictates.
High level of ability to focus on details.
Must be able to work under pressure, communicate properly, receive direction and follow-through, and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
Strong Computer skills: PowerPoint, Excel, MS project, Minitab, Visio
Able to interact with internally and externally customers and suppliers.
Ability to influence and deliver CI and business projects.
Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements.
Strategic thinker and planner
Experience with Nissan quality requirements and salesforce system.
