Job Summary Job Description SUMMARY OF ROLE Under limited supervision uses formal electronic education and experience to calibrate, test and repair drives, servos and motion control products to meet and exceed customer expectations. _______________________________________________________________________________ SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Performs defined calibration & test process to confirm drives, servos and motion control products and subassemblies meet specifications. Uses automatic and manual test equipment and setups. Troubleshoots in-process failures and customer field failures, which are moderately complex. Isolates the failure and determines the root cause using formal education in circuit theory and experience. Capably uses troubleshooting & analysis equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters and other test equipment. Repairs and re-tests products and subassemblies to ensure specifications are met. Completes repair reports in a clear and concise manor. Tracks failure trends and recommends corrective action in a concise organized written form. Actively works with process technicians/engineers to improve products and processes. May assist development engineering in initial checkout of prototypes working from schematics and verbal instructions. May assist Test Engineering with development and building test equipment or test stations. Actively participates in and makes written suggestions to improve the testing & repair process and product quality & reliability. Trains other technicians to assure cross functionality and flexibility throughout manufacturing. Performs reactive and preventive maintenance. Keeps work area neat and clean.
