Position Summary:

Our firm is seeking a highly organized and detailed oriented Junior CAD / GIS Analyst to work under the supervision of a Senior Analyst to: prepare, edit and digitize as-built records, plans, and drawing layouts; performs geographic information tasks such as creating, editing and maintaining geographic information databases, and layers using a variety of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies; performing data analysis; and producing a wide variety of maps, drawings, analytical report figures and related exhibits. Possesses technical knowledge and skills in drafting standards and geographic data compilation and editing, spatial analysis/geoprocessing, data management, cartography, and visualization. Collaborates at a technical level with other staff on CAD and GIS product support and integration with client deliverables. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities of the position:

Please find below a list of some of the duties that may be assigned for this position. Please note that the list is not exhaustive and additional tasks may also be assigned.

  • Performs a variety of routine technical duties in maintaining and supporting GIS databases and GIS products
  • Leverages Autodesk AutoCAD software to efficiently create and maintain standardized CAD products.
  • Collect and integrate geographic data from a wide range of sources and data formats for use in CAD and GIS maps and site plans.
  • Utilize Autodesk AutoCAD software to digitize floor plans and update geospatially derived CAD figures.
  • Ability to perform field work at various Navy and Marine Cops bases in the Southwest.
  • Familiarity with Navy and Marine Corps spatial data standards of SDSFIE and FDGC Metadata a plus.
  • Ability to perform GPS data collection and field form entry utilizing Survey 123 a plus.
  • BS in Geography preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:

In order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position with excellence, a candidate must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The following requirements are indicative of the knowledge, skill, and/or expertise that are essential:

  • Duties are primarily focused on GIS data creation and/or maintenance to support GIS capabilities.
  • Utilize standard GIS and CAD software, tools, and utilities to enter data in GIS databases and CAD figures following specific and detailed instructions as to methods, procedures and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail for completeness, accuracy and assurance of the application of standard GIS and drafting methods, techniques and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $66,560.00 - $76,000.00 per year
