Nice-Pak Products, Inc. (NP) is the global developer, manufacturer, and marketer of pre-moistened wipes for the consumer market, specializing in personal care, hygiene, household cleaning, and disinfection products.

We're currently looking for a Sr. Nonwoven Engineer in our Montvale, NJ location.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Senior Nonwoven Engineer position is a critical role within the Nice Pak R&D organization, leading product development efforts, and providing technical oversight for products in our Private Label and Branded wet wipes portfolio. In this role, the Senior Engineer will serve as the technical nonwoven R&D lead for project initiatives and advance them through the product development process, working cross-functionally to achieve desired milestones and objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Lead all technical aspects for assigned projects and advance them through the product development process, working cross-functionally with the R&D Team, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Procurement, Regulatory, Legal, and Operations

  • Lead research and development projects to innovate and improve nonwoven fabrics' performance, quality, and sustainability.
  • Design and optimize performance for nonwoven materials from spunbond, airlaid, meltblown, carded, and other related technologies to better suit consumer needs.
  • Conduct material and process analysis to enhance product specifications and meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operation, quality, regulatory, and marketing, to ensure the successful scale-up and implementation of new products and technologies.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements affecting nonwoven materials and products.
  • Prepare technical reports, patents, and presentations to share findings and innovations with internal teams, customer meetings, and industrial conferences.
  • Work closely with suppliers and customers to understand material requirements and to develop new materials that meet these needs.
  • Lead efforts to improve the sustainability and environmental performance of nonwoven products and processes.
  • Supervise and develop any assigned direct reports, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or related, relevant scientific discipline; Master’s degree or PhD degree is a plus

 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Understanding of the Product Development Process from concept ideation through launch
  • Computer proficiency (Outlook / Word / Excel / Project)
  • Understanding of Fibers/Nonwoven materials and technologies

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 5-8 years prior work experience in the development of new products with textile materials; previous working experience on personal care products is an advantage
  • Proven track record of developing and launching new products as part of a cross-functional team

  • The associate will work in a laboratory and office environment with some travel to manufacturing facilities
