NIC Global is Hiring a CI Process Engineer-D Near Denton, TX

The Continuous Improvement / Process Engineer will drive improvements at NIC utilizing Lean / Six Sigma methodologies to improve overall Plant performance in Safety, Quality and Productivity. This role will support Production with focused process expertise, providing hands on problem solving, project management, new part/process implementations and technical training in areas of Fabrication, Coatings and related manufacturing processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: CI Process Engineer (QE Focus)

LOCATION: Texas

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

  • Engage Production Team to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities. Create culture of communication and accountability through Visual Problem Prioritization and Action Tracking. Drive robust solutions utilizing Lean / Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and lead Kaizen teams to improve quality, productivity, team member engagement to enhance Waste Free Manufacturing.
  • Identify training needs, develop appropriate programs, and perform training as needed for onboarding and maintaining new and existing employees.
  • Assess new or existing manufacturing and business processes for potential improvements in safety/quality/efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Apply statistical methods to determine and improve process capability, repeatability, first-pass yields, and conformance to quality requirements.
  • Responsible for customer and supplier communication and resolutions as related to quality and production part approvals, 8D corrective action methods, and visitation.
  • Conducts internal audits for compliance with quality systems (IATF), assists in maintaining QMS documents and records.
  • Maintain and update MSA and Calibration database.
  • Assists in new product launches including dimensional inspections and production part approvals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing & 5S preferred.
  • Experience in developing robust manufacturing processes.
  • Experience reading and understanding drawings for fabrication & assembly operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • General knowledge of APQP processes and GD&T.
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts easily and pay attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, planning, time management and organization skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to lift 25lbs with or without accommodations.
