Niantic is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near San Francisco, CA
Niantic's Finance department seeks a Senior Accountant to perform general ledger accounting and scale our operations. The Niantic accounting team ensures that the company succeeds in a competitive global market by working cross-functionally to keep the business running smoothly.
Responsibilities
* Assist the general ledger team with month-end close, including recording daily transactions to ensure reliable application of accounting policies under US GAAP, including identifying areas to refine policies and procedures as needed.
* Prepare journal entries for cash, prepayments, inventory, CIP / fixed assets / depreciation, intangibles / amortization, leases, expense account allocations, reclassifications, and others.
* Record vendor accruals (experience onboarding users to Gappify or similar systems a plus).
* Maintain audit ready records and reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and support the year-end financial statement audit.
* Scale processes, including NetSuite automations for cash transactions and other projects.
* Serve as the cross-functional liaison for business partners in FP&A, Legal, Marketing, and other departments.
* Own other ad-hoc optimization projects.
* Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings.
* Required in-office 2 days on Monday and Wednesday.
Qualifications
* Proficient with accounting systems (e.g. NetSuite), US GAAP, and day-to-day accounting operations.
* Several years of experience closing the books in a timely and efficient manner.
* Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
* Results driven, professionally curious, and flexible.

The total compensation package for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $105,800 - $117,500 bonus equity benefits.
Individual pay within this salary range is determined by work location and additional factors, including assessed job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
