Niantic is Hiring a Director of Product, Geospatial Services Near San Francisco, CA

Are you ready to help define a whole new way of exploring and interacting with the world? We’re looking for a Director of Product to lead a team of PMs building Niantic's next generation digital map, geospatial services and new spatial applications that they unlock. This is a foundational pillar to Niantic's strategy and vision for bringing to life spatial computing experiences that will make our world more accessible, engaging, and entertaining for everyone.

Niantic’s games have millions of daily active users who have collectively made over 500 million friendship connections and walked over 38 billion kilometers. By creating mobile, location-based AR games such as Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, Ingress: Prime, and Monster Hunter Now, Niantic has encouraged people to discover new places, meet new people, and get healthier along the way. Responsibilities

  • Develop and articulate the product strategy for Niantic's geospatial services and map-based consumer experiences. Ensure this lays the strongest foundations to capture value from our mapping products in ways that align with Niantic's strategy and vision.
  • Lead a team of PMs to develop product roadmaps that represent the best investment of our resources to deliver against this product strategies.
  • Work with your cross-functional team to define the right measures of success and track progress against them in the form of KPIs and OKRs.
  • Attract, build, manage, and develop a versatile, diverse, equitable and inclusive team of product managers and product leaders.
  • Establish shared vision across the company that fosters effective product execution.
  • Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction.
  • Required in-office 2 days on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Qualifications

  • 12 years of experience in Product Management and/or Product Design.
  • 12 years of experience working collaboratively with engineering, design, user research, marketing and go-to-market teams.
  • 5 years of experience hiring, managing, and developing individual contributors.
  • Critical thinking and analytical leadership experience.
  • Experience presenting to senior executive audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.
  • BA/BS in computer science, engineering, business administration or equivalent experience.

Plus If...

  • Experience building mapping platform services
  • Experience with mobile consumer map apps
  • Experience with geospatial, spatial computing or real-time 3D map solutions.
  • Experience building developer products or services (SDKs).
  • Experience with computer vision or AR.

The total compensation package for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $252,000 - $280,000 bonus equity benefits.

Individual pay within this salary range is determined by work location and additional factors, including assessed job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
