WORK OBJECTIVE
Under the direction of the Director of Public Affairs, will perform a variety of duties to educate and promote the many external and internal projects and events at the NFTA. This role will also support and help manage Media relations through various social media channels. The person in this role will be responsible for the strategic direction, and coordination with key partners in the effort to develop a robust and successful social media process and execution. This will include but is not limited to communicating and highlighting various business and community projects, creating relevant/engaging content to increase media interaction, and educating the public on key initiatives. The incumbent is responsible for developing a process and working with the appropriate partners to provide current, accurate information to the public and internal audiences in response to social media inquiries, comments, complaints and suggestions. This person will coordinate with Public Affairs, NFTA- Metro, Human Resources, the Buffalo and Niagara Falls Airports, the Transit Police and Fire Departments, and other departments to ensure consistent information and messaging is being transmitted. Emphasis will also be placed on educating internal customers on appropriate engagement tactics as well as monitoring social media comment history. Provides strategic direction and execution on various NFTA campaigns and objectives with the production of highly skilled artwork and design. Also manages the workflow in the creative services department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Ensure that all social media communications consistently support the organization’s brand image, mission and operations.
· Work in collaboration with partners to support any change in services or NFTA policies.
· Support and provide input and solutions to any and all crisis communication situations and maintain significant online presence with knowledgeable and consistent messaging.
· Escalate potentially sensitive, non-standard, or highly visible customer contacts to the Director of Public Affairs or Executive level management.
· Monitor social media comments and report abuse or misuse to management.
· Work with internal customers to develop and maintain digital marketing and promotional materials including graphic design and copy.
· Develop creative content and activity plans to engage the public across social media channels.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Knowledge and experience in social media strategic marketing and educational campaigns, graphic artistry, brand, ability to work with and interact with the media and public and grow social media platforms.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Design, and a minimum of two years working with large-scale social marketing campaigns that include strategy, design, creative content development, and social media engagement. Familiarity with reputation management and brand awareness initiatives.
