This is an exciting opportunity for a Medical Receptionist / Administrator to join a well-established and busy practice reception / administration team.

The successful applicant will be a friendly and enthusiastic individual and have excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work well with others and to adapt to a busy working environment.

Face to face and telephone customer care experience essential as well as keyboard skills.

Main duties of the job

• Main duties of the job, carried out on a daily basis, include : Answering telephones; booking appointments; registering patients;
• receiving people at reception desk and dealing with queries; organising repeat prescriptions; data input; summarising medical records;

liaising with patients and outside organisations; scanning and coding documents into patient medical records; and other general duties.

The Claypath and University Medical Group is a well organised, successful, and forward thinking General Medical Services (GMS) training practice which operates as a single practice Primary Care Network.

The practice has a list size of over 33,000 patients, half of whom are students and staff from the University of Durham.

The practice is contracted to provide essential general medical services for people who are sick or perceive themselves to be sick.

Additional services include cervical screening, contraceptive services, vaccination and immunisation, child health surveillance, and maternity services.

PCN services include podiatry, first contact physiotherapy, social prescribing, clinical pharmacy, mental health, care coordination.
