Position Summary
The Line Clearance Foreperson provides crew supervision, line clearing, and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers. This position oversees services, including pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal, and removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects. The Line Clearance Foreperson directs multiple crews, equipment, plans and executes the assigned work and tasks. This position is also responsible for supervising and assisting in the proper maintenance, preparation, and operation of all tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Duties and Responsibilities Include
Essential Duties:
Assigns work for crews and directs crews in performing work according to accepted line clearance practices
Enforces safe work practices as experience, judgment, company policy, and OSHA standards direct
Conducts safety training per company policies and procedures
Promotes and maintains good customer/public relations through job completion and appropriate behavior of crews
Receives and interprets tree trimming, removal, and chemical application orders
Responsible for controlling crew costs with effective use of manpower, work methods, and equipment operation
Trims and/or removes trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, or lift truck
Works from the ground when needed
Cuts branches or trunk sections and drops or lowers them to the ground with lines
Sprays stumps and brush with hand-spraying equipment to prevent further growth
Loads and unloads trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris & feeds brush into a woodchipper

What You'll Bring to the Team
Leadership skills
Operate and service all required tools and equipment
Experience with a tree care/maintenance program, including but not limited to Operation of stump grinders, chippers, chipper trucks, bucket trucks, and other tree-related equipment
May be required to pass a DOT physical examination to obtain the appropriate CDL
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record per Company requirements
Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities

Meet all physical requirements of the position
Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations
18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred:
High School Diploma, GED, or HSE
Conversational knowledge of the Spanish language
