nFocus Solutions is Hiring a Graphic Designer Near Fort Lee, VA

Role Summary

The successful candidate will perform Doctrine graphics services to include development of graphic material for Army techniques publication, field manuals, joint publications. Candidate will provide graphics, video and interactive web-based/DVD based visual support for graphical displays in Army publications. The candidate will work with authors to produce graphical representations that portray complex operational concepts in Army doctrine and related material. The representations include but are not limited to complex graphics for policy, implementation products such as interactive media or video, and presentation material for senior Army leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop graphic products to illustrative narratives in Army publications
  • Develop video products that integrate with narratives or summarize narrative as stand-alone videos
  • Develop PowerPoint Army presentations for Senior Leadership and other Army audiences
  • Design and maintain graphical representations for the Army’s definitive source of symbols (ADRP 1-02)
  • Develop graphics for policy and complex technical requirement documentation to brief Army leadership

Education/Experience/Required Clearance

  • Must be US Citizen and eligible for clearance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Pro
  • Minimum two years’ experience writing and editing military doctrine
  • Two years’ experience using state of the art desktop publishing software used in the design and layout of publications to include recent versions of Adobe (experience may be substituted with certified training)
  • Two years’ experience preparing graphics for or developing briefings and visual aids for various audiences (experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Paint) 
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex concepts and principles in Army doctrine 

Preferred

  • Associates degree required, but prefer bachelor’s degree
  • Familiar with the standards for graphics in departmental publication outlined in TR 25-36 and DA Pamphlet 25-0.
  • Familiar with Army Doctrine Publications (ADP’s), Army Doctrine Reference Publications (ADRP’s), Field Manuals (FM’s) and, Army Techniques Publication (ATP’s)

  • Possess clear and precise oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Submit to required background check
  • Able to meet requirements to work on a military installation, including having a valid state driver's license and car insurance. 
  • Be self-motivated with ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete multiple tasks within specified timeframes
  • Be organized with a strong sense of urgency
  • Adhere to established guidelines and procedures
  • Demonstrate high standards of quality and accuracy
  • Be in attendance and punctual as scheduled
  • Be proficient in basic computer and software applications
