The Maintenance Tech has general responsibility to assist in coordinating, supervising, and completing maintenance activities on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for directing work assignments in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist supervisor in reviewing work orders, priorities and delegate work to mechanics on shift including in absence of supervisor
Work with, guide and train less experienced mechanics contributing to a collaborative team
Ensure all paperwork is properly filled out and turned in daily for OSHA compliance and tracking for both yourself and other mechanics
Communicate with next shift open work orders & pending issues that need to be addressed to provide a smooth transition for operations
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems, repairing and maintaining all equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
Troubleshoot, install and repair mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings.
Working on motors, contactors, relays and other electrical components
Reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
Maintaining a clean work environment for all employees
Working safely and continually finding ways to improve safety at the facility, following the safety regulations by the company and OSHA.
Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions
Dismantles equipment and machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools; moves machinery and equipment using forklifts, clamps, chains, pallet jacks, rollers, and jacks
Assembles and installs equipment such as conveyors, label printers, tappers, box maker, baggers, using hand and power tools; aligns machines.
Ensures all broken equipment is reported timely to Operations Supervisor/Manager.
Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs all production equipment as needed.
Responsible for operating the production machinery according to established production needs/requirements while inspecting finished products for quality.
Responsible for notifying the shift supervisor of significant deviations from normal operating conditions.
