Pediatrician - Gardner, MA

Compensation: $225,000 for 36 clinical hours (40 hours/week)

Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a Pediatrician, for a reputable client in Fitchburg, MA. area. The ideal candidate must have board certification and eligibility in Pediatrics and must be Board Certified Pediatrics Practice.

About the Job

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Director, provides comprehensive and continuous primary care to a panel of patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides primary care services to infants, children and adolescents up to the age of 22.

  • Practices within the collaborative model with nurse practitioners and behavioral health providers.

  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments,diagnosis and treatment for a specified patient population.

  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.

  • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.

  • Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.

  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.

  • Participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.

  • Observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.

  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.

  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.

  • Participate in On Call coverage.

  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.

  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.

  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.

  • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.

  • Communicates effectively in both written and verbal formats.

  • Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.

  • Managing patient care is a team effort that involves clinical and non-clinical staff interacting with patients

  • Demonstrate understanding and commitment of the health center mission

  • Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the established CHC Values and Standards

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO)

  • Board certification/eligibility in Pediatrics.

  • Current licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine

  • Certified in ACLS or CPR/AED

  • Current DEA, DEA-X and Massachusetts Controlled Substance licensure for prescriptive authority

  • Eligible for unrestricted health center at facilities utilized by the health center

Supervision Exercised: Provides general direction from the supervising to NP in accordance with departmental nurse practitioner protocols.

Competencies: Individual departments may develop competencies which will be communicated and maintained through CHC’s performance evaluation system.

Environmental Working Conditions: Usual working environment found in outpatient primary care office setting. Exposure to blood products, body fluids, cleaning solutions, and medications.

Physical Requirements: The physical and mental demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Physical requirements include near visual acuity to observe changes in health/illness status of patients. Manual skills
