ER Registered Nurse - Floresville, TX 78114
Compensation: $33 - $45 per hour plus differentials
Hours/Shifts: 32 to 40 hours per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Central

About the Job
Provides general nursing care to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, infirmaries, or similar healthcare facilities by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director, provides nursing care to assigned patients.
Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through the use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing following departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
Prepares equipment and aids Physicians during the treatment and examination of patients.
Maintains awareness of the comfort and safety needs of patients.
Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify the supervisor or Physician of the patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the Physician and/or hospital policy including patient and family instruction.
Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for minor procedures in the Emergency Department.
Assists with procedures by handing items to a Physician, Surgeon, Obstetrician, or other medical practitioner.
Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN
Five (5) years of emergency services experience as a direct care provider
Registered Nurse (RN) license
CPR and ACLS are required
TNCC or ATCN
ENPC or PALS certifications are preferred.
Ability to care for multiple patients.
Flexibility in scheduling and in moving within patient care areas.
Strong clinical assessment skills
Willing to fulfill a role as Charge RN, when needed
Able to work in the evening or graveyard shift
Able to work in Wilson County Texas
