What You Will Receive as a Plate Shop Helper/ Deburrer:
Starting Wages: $21.00 – 23.00/hr. (depending on experience)

What You Will Be Doing as a Plate Shop Helper/ Deburrer:
Prepare all material surfaces to be welded.
Assist welders to set up rigs and move them between work areas.
Assist with chipping or grinding off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment.
Perform deburring and smoothing operations on metal plates and components using various hand tools and power tools.
Assist with cutting, contouring, and beveling metal plates and structural shapes to dimensions as specified by blueprints, layouts, work orders, and templates.
Operate overhead and jib cranes
Record and maintain accurate documentation of production activities, including plate dimensions and quality inspections.
Conduct thorough inspections of plates before and after deburring to maintain high-quality standards.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating machinery and tools.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize hazards.
What You’ll Need to Have as a Plate Shop Helper/ Deburrer:
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
Previous experience in metal fabrication
Previous experience in deburring and finishing metal components is a plus
Proficient in the use of hand tools, and power tools
Ability to read and interpret blueprints is a plus
Ability to operate overhead crane / jib crane (preferred but not required)
Strong attention to detail and precision in work
Good communication skills for working in a collaborative team environment
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift heavy materials when required
Ability to work in outdoor or shop environment.
Must be resilient to working in adverse climatic conditions.
