The company is looking for a project leader that combines deep electrical expertise with superior customer service. This team member will be eager to lead by example, constantly improve our team, and do what is necessary to ensure operational excellence!

Project Managers will manage all aspects of turnkey projects for existing commercial customers. The right candidate will eagerly take ownership of all project outcomes throughout the entire project life cycle including project planning, initiation, execution, and closure. They will be well-versed in managing multiple projects simultaneously, often with unexpected challenges and shifting priorities. This team member will have direct and constant contact with the company’s most important customers. Their performance is foundational to our success.

Next Step Energy Solutions, a private equity-backed provider of turnkey retrofit solutions, partners with many of the most sophisticated commercial real estate owners and operators in the United States to identify and execute high-yield sustainable projects at scale. What You’ll Do

  • Ownership and accountability for the entire project outcome including but not limited to client engagement, team leadership, product selection, permitting, installation, and logistics for assigned projects.
  • Troubleshooting, problem-solving, and managing technical and non-technical challenges that arise throughout a project.
  • Clear, consistent, disciplined communication with all stakeholders including but not limited to internal team and management, property managers, building owners, building engineers, manufacturers, and vendors.
  • Daily project planning, reporting, and status updates.
  • Onboarding and oversite of foreman and technicians. This position is responsible for turning good into great. Leading, mentoring, and serving our workforce.
  • Effectively utilizing our proprietary project tracking systems, shared databases, and tools to increase visibility and reduce mistakes.
  • Displaying, enforcing, and promoting quality, safety, productivity, and professionalism standards. Documenting policy violations, incidents, and discipline systematically.
  • Manage the permitting process when necessary, including but not limited to, researching permitting requirements, preparing the team for compliance, and pulling permits when we have the ability to do so.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • A skilled leader with at least 5 years of experience leading teams with direct report responsibilities and managing electrical construction projects. Bonus points for experience managing or installing LED lighting retrofits.
  • Prioritizes advanced planning and preparation. Detail Oriented and Disciplined. Understands that trust is won or lost in the details.
  • Willing to travel consistently to provide leadership on the ground and ensure teams are well supported. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, may require extended on-site project management to ensure a successful project execution.
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, iOS applications, Bluebeam.

What You Bring To Us

  • Four-year degree preferred in Business, Construction Management, Engineering or Related degree or equivalent experience. Equivalent construction management experience in place of degree accepted.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • Experience Managing Construction and Electrical Installations.

  • Electrical Masters License

Keep In Mind

  • Project Managers often support customers and partners during “off hours” and, therefore, are expected to be available for support on weekends and evenings/nights.
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds, climb a ladder, and work above their head.
