Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for installing, programming, maintaining, inspecting, and troubleshooting low voltage systems such as fire alarms, security systems, and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, as well as experience in field service and system design principles.
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure low voltage systems, including fire alarms, CCTV systems, security systems, and access control systems
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on low voltage systems
- Troubleshoot and repair any issues or malfunctions with low voltage systems
- Collaborate with clients to determine their specific needs and requirements for low voltage systems
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate installation and configuration of low voltage systems
- Provide technical support to customers regarding low voltage system operation and maintenance
- Collaborate with sales team to provide expertise on low voltage system capabilities during the sales process
Qualifications:
- Ability to complete and pass a criminal background check
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of electrical principles
- Previous experience in field service or related field is preferred
- Familiarity with fire alarm sales and installation is a plus
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting schematics
- Ability to effectively use hand tools for installation and maintenance tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members
- Familiarity with NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm Code
- Fire Alarm Technician certification through the Utah Fire Marshal's Office strongly desired
- Utah Burglar Alarm Company Agent license
