JOB DESCRIPTION-

Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

ER - ED/ER

Full-Time

Registered Nurse candidates for the Emergency Department will have the following job responsibilities:

  • The Registered Nurse (RN) IIB position is a licensed staff nurse, an experienced clinician, functions at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benner's model of clinical practice.
  • The RN IIB position provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records.
  • The RN IIB position provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently which may include patients with varied and complex needs.
  • This position communicates and collaborates with the physicians and interprofessional health care team to facilitate, coordinate and maintain compassionate, efficient, quality care and achievement of desired treatment outcomes.
  • The RN IIB position demonstrates clinical competence when providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies, acting as a patient and family advocate in order to monitor and maintain patient rights.
  • The RN IIB position assumes leadership roles with progressive responsibility including but not limited to participating in or leading unit and shared governance initiatives, serving as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees, and possibly contributing to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management.
  • This job code is reserved for RNs who are dedicated to an OR, ER or Cardiac Cath Lab department.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS-

Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

ER - ED/ER

Full-Time

Registered Nurse candidates for the Emergency Department must meet the following minimum job qualifications:

  • Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire.
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • Current NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.

For Staff Level: ED

Additional Information:

  • Shift times: NIGHTS ONLY 7-7
  • Must have experience - willing to train! Must have 2 years ICU / ER/ PCU

Sal range:

$ (2yr)-$31.77 (5 yr)- $34.62

(10yr) $38.55 (17yr MAX) 44.13
