JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-

Registered Nurse Director - Cardiovascular Services

RN DIR - CV SVCS

Full-Time

Registered Nurse Director candidates for the Cardiovascular Services Department will have the following job responsibilities:

  • The director is responsible for the overall effective operation of his/her department(s) to ensure organization goals and objectives are achieved. Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
  • You will comply with hospital/departmental policies and procedures, i.e., attendance, mandatory education, safety, infection control, etc.
  • You will administer and analyze goals and objectives for work unit(s). Meet organizational goals. Take proactive view and anticipates change and need for action.
  • You will prepare departmental budget, projecting reasonable activity levels and expenses required to achieve approved net margin for work unit(s). Operate work unit(s) within approved budget.
  • You will maintain compliance with current regulation/requirements of outside regulatory/accrediting agencies and assure that new requirements are identified on a timely basis and coordinates hospital compliance.
  • You will demonstrate understanding of Process Improvement. Promote the systematic assessment and improvement of performance. Continuously assess and improve the performance of care and services provided by using information available from customers (i.e., patients, staff, physicians, and employees), to improve outcomes.
  • You will demonstrate high ethical standards in business practices. Actively support organizational goals and changes as they occur. Communicate goals in positive, supportive manner.
  • You will guide, direct, and plan the organization and coordination of the department activities in the areas of responsibility.
  • You will demonstrate effectiveness in the following areas:
  • Selecting employees.
  • Developing staff and preparing employees for career advancement.
  • You will provide continuous employee assessment with timely written evaluations and demonstrate ability to motivate employees. Initiate progressive disciplinary action/termination when necessary.
  • You will keep turnover at an acceptable level in order to meet hospital turnover goals
  • You will actively participate in Hospital and Departmental committees and group meetings with a focus on providing input regarding improving the quality of patient care services in the facility.
  • You will conduct monthly department meetings to keep staff informed. Insure that there is a complete flow of information through the department.
  • You will comply with Employee Health and Injury policy/protocol. Comply with all emergency codes, disaster protocols, infection control protocols, and safety protocols. Ensure staff attends required/mandatory in-services and that staff receives continuing education to remain current in their field.
  • You will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients and families served in relation to growth and development over the life span to identify their requirements relative to age-specific needs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS-

Registered Nurse Director - Cardiovascular Services

RN DIR - CV SVCS

Registered Nurse Director candidates for the Cardiovascular Services Department must meet the following minimum job qualifications:

Education:

  • BSN required

License/ Certifications:

  • Current Texas Registered Nursing license or identified compact state license. (*If compact license, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire or establishment of Texas residency, whichever occurs first) required upon hire
  • BCLS

Experience:

  • 5 years CV services management

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced Leader that can grow Service Line and Volume.
  • Service line growth includes: Cardiac-Medical, Imaging, EMS/ED/CL workflows, HF, Nursing Ed. Competencies scope, Cardiac Rehab, Cath lab, Cardiac Surgery.
  • Vascular- Procedural and Screenings.
  • Scope- Operational, Program Development, Continuum of Care, Leadership Development. SDMC is on the upswing to advance CV Services. Increase Advanced HF ECMO, and future Transplant. Looking to grow vascular and possible Structural and CTO's Needs exceptional communication skills both written and verbal and works well with teams and providers and leadership team. Ability to coach and grow managers.

Additional Information:

  • FTE 32-35Oversight of 5 departments (see below)
  • Modalities at the facility: Full ED, ICU, PCU/Tele, Med Surg, Neuro/Orthopedics, Surgical Oncology, EP, Full OR, Endo,
  • 2 Cath Labs, 2 Interventional
  • Special Procedures Radiology Biplane rooms and 1 OR Hybrid used as back up and some cases supported by CL Rad Tech EP with Atrial Fib Center (6) EP Labs with International training Center.
  • Patient Population served: Neonatal ICU, Adult
  • Engagement scores:73% Overall Departments EE (Cath Lab, CDR Prep and Recovery, Echo, Cardiopulmonary Rehab
  • Contract Labor: No contract Labor in Cath Lab. 1 CL Rad tech in I
  • Procedures/day: M-F 24/7 STEMI and Stroke Call (GOLD AHA ML GWGL's STEMI and NSTEMI recognition), Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Staff Shifts: 7:00-3:30 PM
  • Departments over (2) Cath Lab, 2 IR Labs, 12 bed CDR Prep and Recovery, Echo Lab, Cardiopulmonary Rehab (Intensive Pritikin Program)
Salary: $145k Min - $155k Mid - $165k Max (Based on years experience)
