Summary of Position
Nexon America is looking for a Game Designer Intern to join our Western Development team for the 2024 summer internship program. This internship will provide valuable experience to learn how game design with a Western philosophy will impact our game business. You will be able to closely work with our Western Development members and stakeholders to understand the design and gameplay goals, create design documents and propose designs for a live service game. During this process, you will also be able to learn how to work within a team and breathe life into features, game systems, and events that our players will love.
We are currently working in the office 2-3x a week in a hybrid work model. Relocation/housing will not be provided for the internship.
The target start date for the internship program is 6/10 (40 hours/week) and the duration of the internship will vary between 8-12 weeks depending on the role.

Job Responsibilities
Work closely with our Producer, UX Researcher, and other team members and stakeholders to understand business goals and the project goals for MapleStory GMS
Create design documents related to the various gameplay systems that are being designed around
Propose features, gameplay systems, events, and other content that could be implemented specifically for MapleStory GMS
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
Knowledge/Skills
Moderate to high-level experience or knowledge with/of MapleStory
Experience in game design, including related classes, building prototypes, and personal projects
Proficient in creating supporting documents for game designs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Passion for games with a focus on player experience and satisfaction
Online gaming experience preferred (i.e playing online games, good understanding of online games)
Documentation Needed (i.e., art portfolio, coding portfolio)

Compensation Description for Pay Transparency (hourly)
The base salary range for this position in El Segundo, CA is $18.00 - $20.00 hourly.
Our salary ranges are determined by market data based on position and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salaries for that position.
