Job Details

Position : Dining Services Supervisor

Location : Saline, MI

Schedule : Varies, typically five days per week

Pay Rate : $20 / hour

The Dining Services Supervisor s upervises food services while ensuring resident satisfaction, quality care, regulatory agency compliance, and good public relations are achieved through the safe and efficient use of resources.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

The Dining Services Supervisor will be held accountable for competent care and quality services.

Nutrition, Health & Wellness

  • The Dining Department Supervisor is responsible for ensuring resident preferences and dietary needs are logged and staff are trained accordingly
  • They will also conduct meal rounds, be apart of monthly food committee and apply service recovery whenever necessary to satisfy the residents.
  • Supervisor may also partner with residents for any accommodations required during meal services

Regulatory & Safety

  • Adheres to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies.
  • Complies with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and accrediting agencies as evidenced by successful completion of surveys with no deficiencies.
  • Follows facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and assist meal service to ensure meets resident dining standards.
  • Comply with policy and procedures for facility, NexDine as appropriate, including standard crisis procedures, emergency preparedness and life safety.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Orient, mentor and train staff in department and community as it relates to food and nutrition services.
  • Participates in and attends departmental meetings.
  • Collaborate on menus developed with leadership team.
  • Treat everyone as if they are your customer (staff, direct report, residents)

Supervisory

  • Planning and supervision of resident dining and service
  • Oversight of scheduling, hiring, performance and training of resident dining service personnel.
  • Ensuring coverage for all service areas through proactive management
  • Contribute to community strategic goals and objectives as they relate to food and nutrition services.

Performs other tasks that may be assigned.

Qualifications :

Education and Experience :

Previous experience in long term care preferred, but not required.

Any customer service training a plus

Language Skills :

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of medical staff, healthcare professionals, managers, clients, customers, and the public
